I have a little boy who has been dying to go fishing all summer long. Luckily he has a set of grandparents who were willing to appease him.
I realize I have no pictures of Grandma and Grandpa, but they were there I promise. Grandma was the only other one who caught a fish (and I do have a picture of her, but it didn't turn out well).
After fishing we grabbed some lunch at a Mexican restaurant. Reid thinks it is such a treat to go out to eat with Grandma and Grandpa. It's funny how much it excites him. Back home everyone but Reid and I took a nap. We made a double batch of banana bread while the others snoozed. Grandma and Grandpa were on the road before dinner time and both our kids were heartbroken they left so soon. But we are always glad when they come, and I try to remind Reid to be grateful for that -- but goodbyes are hard when you are three-years-old.
The highlight of our morning happened when Ben haphazardly threw out his line for a test run. The moment it hit the water a small mouth bass took a bite. He and I both burst out laughing. What luck!
I was taking this set up picture when Ben caught his only fish of the day.
Reid proudly helped him net it.
And there was some scientific examination before Mr Bass was thrown back in the lake.
Nell was not going near that thing, though.
Soon enough Reid was set up with his own pole.
And eventually even Nell warmed up to the idea of pulling fish out of the water. After that first catch she verbally expressed her concern that a fish or turtle might get her if she sat on the rocks by the lake. Silly girl.

I love that Grandma and Grandpa Szilagyi are such a big part of the grandkid's lives! Thank you Rick and Carol. Wish we lived closer or vice versa!
I love Nell's hair. It is way cute. Thanks for cutting it! I know I nagged, but just look how dang cute she is!!!
Love, Pa
