Option D. Which I didn't list, cause I really hoped it wouldn't be so. But the elevated mattress seemed to make no difference at all. He didn't end up smashed against any crib sides, so that's good . . . but he did turn horizontal. He did that in his pack and play (while we waited for his crib to get here).
I've decided not to care anymore. Sure, it stinks I haven't had more than 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep for over two weeks, but oh well. It's not worth getting cranky over anymore. And it certainly isn't worth letting him try and cry it out. That was a wasted hour plus. Every seven or so minutes Ben or I would go in there to calm him down, but without picking him up or feeding him. But he absolutely refused to go back to sleep until he was fed. Aside from learning I truly hate that method of problem solving . . . I also learned my baby is really stubborn. Isn't that surprising, I have a stubborn child? Hopefully when he makes up his mind on more positive matters he'll be just as determined to get what he wants.

Cole had colic for the first 3 months and then after that, he just wanted the contact. I couldn't get him to sleep all night for the first 10 months. Crying it out did nothing for him and made me crazy. Sometimes the experts don't know your kid. After 10 months, the book advice worked like a charm. The only two things that really helped with him was a strict eating schedule (in the day, at night, I just was too tired to care) and gripe water. Good luck. The good thing about my situation was I was ready for no sleep for the first year with child 2 and 3 and they were both really pleasant. Slept great and best of all, no colic. A hard one at first breaks you in and the rest seem like a breeze...maybe I will retract that statement in a few years but for now...
He's a big kid, and is probably just having a growth spurt. But try to get him as much food during the day as possible is good advice. Do you use a binky? Sometimes they may just want to suck. Good luck though, and welcome to motherhood. I haven't had a good night's sleep since having Jaedon.
I feel for you. Walker never slept through the night till he was 10 months old. And that was after a few nights of HOURS of screaming. He was a stubborn little guy. Things will get better...I promise
Good luck! Maybe it's just a phase and he'll get over it soon and sleep again. I'll hope that for you at least!
Oh, Liz I'm sorry. My first two were horrible as well. Colby fed for 1/2 an hour and then woke up 2 hours later until he was 5 months. I agree that every child is different. Clayton, we made him fall asleep initially by himself and then if he woke up in the night I would feed him. He started sleeping through the night around 1 month, but then at 6 months he got sick and he was horrible for the next six months. He is barely starting to sleep through the night. So I thought I had a dream baby, but he ended up being even harder because I went from expecting him to sleep through the night to him waking up a couple of times during the night. AHHH, parenthood, it's so confusing. Oh and I saw one of your posts on Facebook, IMO, I would definitely swaddle him. Even if he acts like he hates it. If the receiving blanket is big enough he shouldn't be able to get out. I think this really helps them feel more secure.
I agree with Mel. Max used to do the same thing and he was ALWAYS hungry. I fed him as much as possible in the day and he slept longer stretches at night. You are such a good mommy!
I broker every "rule" with Dax, and I loved every minute of it! You won't ever be able to hold your baby all night long after the first one, so I say toss the "rules" out of the window and eat up some baby lovin'! Sorry about the sleep though. It does get better!
