Family Photo Shoot

My friend Kim has started a photography business and we were fortunate enough to help her build her portfolio. I'm so grateful we could because I would typically never pay the fee for a photo shoot. I need to next time though, because these are totally worth the real price tag she charges. Part of my hesitation is the outfits. I don't want to go out and buy us all coordinated outfits! I can't imagine the time that takes people. Truly, that is the one thing that holds me back from doing professional photos each year. It took me a couple weeks to just let go of that issue and pick out an outfit each of us already owned. I'd say it mostly worked out. It was also a good lesson in not worrying about being perfect or keeping up with the Joneses of the world.

These were taken around Mid-September. We'd already had quite a bit of cold weather, but this Saturday afternoon warmed up perfectly for us.

This shot right here is my favorite!

The kids loved watching that Heron during our shoot

This is how Mara and Coraline felt about the whole thing, ha!
