Dozens of dozens of celebrities capture my attention for a time. Sandra Bullock and probably Julia Roberts and Drew Barrymore have taken up most of my distant admiration.
But I feel like I've finally found a woman I can look up to when she walks down the carpet.
As I've conducted google searchers on dear Tina, I've realized she really is Liz Lemon. (Literally, her real first name is Elizabeth). She grew up in PA, moved to Chi-town, got started in the comedy business as a writer (not an actor). The whole 30 Rock character is the real Tina Fey, and I love them both. I think I might actually like the real Tina more.
She held on to her virginity till she was 24, and her husband is the only person she has ever been intimate with. I don't know why I find that so fascinating, but like I said FINALLY a celeb I really can admire.
She's a feminist with priorities in family.
What has intrigued me most as I've blazed through three seasons of 30 Rocks on Netflix, is her scar. It's hard to get to the bottom of it. When asked about it in an interview -- by the way, the scar is like two or three inches long, on her lower left cheek -- she dodges answering the question directly because talking about the experience disturbs her parents. Her husband blabbed the story to Vanity Fair though. She was five-years-old, playing on the lawn in her PA suburb when a stranger approached her and slashed her face. She thought he wrote on her with a pen. I'm not surprised her parents are so mortified.
Even that story, makes me love her more. She's just so normal, so wholesome, and SOOOO funny!
Not to mention, I still love her for this role!

She sounds like a great person. I was impressed.
I loved her just fine doing the Palin impersonations (haven't laughed that hard for a long time -- and I'm looking forward to many more -- Palin is such an easy target!), but reading her bio brought a totally new light to her. I see why you like her so.
Love, Pa
It is kind of funny that she is such a "wholesome person" when she is kind of a crude person. I like her though and she wrote mean girls (I think), which is so funny to me. I am surprise by the info you gave me, I would never have guessed all that stuff about her. I have never seen 30 rock and very very seldom watch SNL so I don't know much about her.
Gotta love her, especially when she is imitating good ole Sarah! Mom
