Today I get to celebrate two very special people. But I'm sad I only get to be with one of them.
Reid hit 3 months today. And my mom hit 58. She might not love that I'm sharing her age, but I figure she lost count a while ago and seeing it here might just help remind her what number she's at. LOVE YOU MOM!
I don't normally do Birthday shout outs on here. Not even for Ben. But it seems every time I move to a new place I get a little homesick for my Mom. Also, something about having a child of my own makes me wish she were closer. I love watching her dote on Reid. I think being a Grandmother is her greatest joy, and she is good at it! In fact, I'd argue she is the best, and if you don't believe me just check this out: Issac's adventures at Grandma's.
Truth is, she is terrific at anything she does (those stubborn Hardy genes paying off). Mmmmm, I could sure go for ANY of her meals right now. But her rolls and her homemade cookies are probably the best.
Of course the most amazing thing about her is how well she taught me the Gospel of Jesus Christ -- through example. Every cliche she owns relates directly to a gospel principle. "Teach them correct principles and let them govern for themselves" and "It's all just 'stuff,' you don't take any of it with you" are two of my personal favorites.
Well I better go and clean up a few things before she calls me in 20 minutes and tells me none of this is true. Humility is another of her many Christlike traits.

That is soooooo sweet of you! Thanks! Though you do have one tiny error...I was born in 1952 which means I am actually 59! Your father reminded me that I would be 60 on my next b-day. Didn't know if I should have shot him then or later. Guess I'll shoot for later! Anyway, thank you, it was all very sweet of you and yes I do LOVE my grand babies and the adult children who provided them for me! Love ya, Mom
