Childhood

About twice a summer, my parents would use part of their water shares to flood irrigate our front lawn (a giant field of grass we lovingly called "the orchard" -- it had two failing apple trees on one end). Playing in that (super yucky) water was always a highlight of summer. So today, when our rain-drain ditch filled up with about six inches of water, I seized the opportunity. I put both kids in their suits and we had a blast!

I shared a video of them running through the water on facebook, but here I'll go more "in-depth."

Jumping into the water:

Rolling into the water:

Diving into the water:

"Swimming" through the water like a goose:

And though Nell spent much of her time trying to wander into the street, this video shows she enjoyed the water too:

Yes, I took a lot of videos, nine to be exact. They were just so happy, and I loved helping them live a part of my own childhood, even if they aren't country kids.

Memories... I loved the videos. Thanks so much for letting us be a part of their lives, so many miles away... Love, Pa

How cute was that! I LOVE Nell in her little swim suit and Reid with his exuberance for life. Can't wait to see them. We will definitely have to go to the splash pad.
