The Holiday Season

The holidays were better than ever this year. After being away from family for so long it was more than rewarding to see everyone. For Thanksgiving my Mom, Dad, and infamous little brother Phil came to DC and stayed with us for a couple days. One major blessing about living in DC is that my older brother Jon and his family live just a short drive away in Hershey, PA. So we also spent some time there. I love playing with my nephew, his son Jaedon. I was very Thankful for some family time.

December was REALLY crazy. "A December to remember" is what my father called it. Long story short, I had some extra time off work and my parents came to DC yet again to take care of me, at age 25 - shesh! That is how the month started. Then Ben had law school finals, I've never seen anyone study so much in my life! Finally we had a week to spend together here in the city. So we became Virginia residents. If you don't know already, lines at the DMV STINK!

Right before Christmas we made it to Ben's house for celebrations. We had a ball. His whole family was able to be there (which is amazing considering there are 7 kids). They held on to childhood traditions and I have to say, I really felt like a kid again. It was so much fun. My time there was cut short because my last surviving grandparent died right before Christmas. So I flew home to Delta, Utah for the funeral. My grandmother would have been proud. All her grandkids showed up for the event and I had a GREAT time with all my cousins.

This holiday season I learned how much I love my family. Nothing is better than spending time with those who love you most. But I have to confess, Ben and I are both very excited to get back to work and school. I missed my students, and he actually missed studying!

See you all next month (I plan on writing monthly entries)!

Hey Liz you probably won't get this comment for a month, when you next check your blog. I found your blog through Shar, through Alison and I am really excited to see that you have one. It sounds like you are doing really good and loving life. That's awesome. Well can't wait to see what you post next month

Liz, I'm so stoked that you left a comment on my little page. I totally love that someone checked me out. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law did too and shar and jodi and jessica and I seriously wanted to pee my pants I was so excited. It's kinda fun to do the blogging thing. I know that sounds so dumb and nerdy and I don't know why people make fun of it. Probably because it's self promoting. I don't know. But, It's so good to see I have a fellow blogger in you. And I'm sad about your grandma. Also, really want to see you guys some time again. I also didn't want to send this to you via comment, but I just am not one to talk on the phone, but I was wondering if you could watch Lauren while Dave and I go to the temple some weekend in Febuary. We are moving this month, I know, don't ask me if I think it's rediculous. So, we won't get time until feb. And we tried to do the ol'switcheroo thing with Lauren, let's jsut say it ended with a very very bad day for me. I was about to explode and call the Prophet and tell him the Washington temple is a fake and it shouldn't be ours. I really should take that back because I'm so glad we have a temple and it's so gorgeous too. well goodnight!

Who knew you made your own blog. I love that picture of you and me! I wish I knew how to make one. Say hi to Ben for me and tell him his old english teacher asked about him Mr. Reynolds, and he was shocked to find out he is going to law school, and that he was married.

Lizzie - I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Costa Vida is my most favorite of all those restaurants that are basically identical. Who did you have to know so well to get that recipe??!!
How are you? Did I ever tell you Bree Hill's twin from Freshman year lives in Happy Valley too. We frequent the same beauty supply store a lot. She is married and a mom and still just as skinny as ever. This world is TOO small! Tell Ben hi, I hope you guys are doing well.
