Last night Ben and I went to
Hamlet with a few friends.* It was outdoors in the famous DC Rock Creek Park. The weather was perfect and the acting supreme! I love Shakespeare. The words are just so beautiful and the plot is always so intriguing. And the best part was I had forgotten exactly how
Hamlet ends so I was really into it all the way through. Overall it was a great evening and it made me think back to my days at USU. Every other year this company from England would come a put on an entire Shakespeare play with only five actors. It was always so amazing. The play last night wasn't at all like that, but it still made me reminisce. The performance last night had some modern twists, which I liked. Anyway, enough rambling. My advice to everyone, see Shakespeare whenever you can. Oh, and Hamlet was on
Law and Order SVU once. I thought that was pretty cool.
*Adding in October 2020, the friends were Ben's law school classmates, James and Karen Bates and Megan Needham. It's possible their friend Ryan Warren and his wife were with us as well, and maybe Megan may have had a date.

Sounds like you and Ben had an exciting evening! That does sound so much fun though I am not much of a Hamlet fan. How did Ben enjoy it? It's not quite the Simpsons you know. I may actually prefer Marge and Homer to Hamlet!! Perhaps I just have not been exposed to good literature often enough in my 56 years. I love you Lizzy. Tell Ben I love him too! Mom
You and Ben are always up to something fun!! And yup. Your apartment is definitely something out of the movies.
And I just have to say - toe shoes!?!?! Really?!?!
Shakespeare in the park? That's really awesome! I would love that. What a cool opportunity!
