Today is our two year anniversary. The time has gone so fast. And honey, the pleasure has been all mine. I just want to tell everyone I love Ben so much. If you don't know him, you should know he is brilliant; he retains information like I retain water weight. He is funny, in a cute goofy sort of way. He has the prettiest blue eyes and the cutest curly blond hair. He understands the gospel with such depth. I just love love love him. I think I got the greatest catch in the world. He couldn't be more perfect for me.
Ours was one of those when you know, you know relationships. I had just come home from my mission when I spotted him in Church. I told my friend Liz that he was the type of boy I wanted to date. She told me good luck. So I tried to prove her wrong by talking to him a couple times, and there was no interest. In fact, he doesn't even remember. I later found out he had a girlfriend at the time and was just being loyal. But as soon as they broke up he noticed me all on his own. I had decided to go for one of his friends by that point, and he just called me up to ask me out. He actually left a message on my machine (cause he'd called three times and I hadn't answered). So I knew he must have really wanted to go with me. That was about all I knew about him.
When he picked me up I noticed he was from Illinois and that scored points (I never was one for Utah boys). He also informed me he wasn't a Bulls fan (ten more points) and that he really liked the state senator, Barack Obama (ding ding ding, flashing lights! I knew I was in love). We went to the Bamff Film Festival. Which was only about an hour. Then he said "well, since you're an English major I figured we could go to Borders and you could show me your favorite books." Right then I knew he hadn't really planned a date because until that night he didn't know my major. Well, we went to the store and browsed all the aisles together. Never running out of things to say. We were there until the store closed. Then he suggested we go to Beto's. All this was a sign to me that he really wanted to keep spending time with me. He kept coming up with things to do. By the end of the night we hugged goodnight and I knew he would be calling me back for a second date.
And it was a hit from there. It only took about two months before we both knew we were in love. I was so grateful to have him in my life. I just knew I never wanted him to leave. So when he first talked about marriage I didn't even hesitate. And about 4 1/2 months after our first date we were married. Fast, I know. But I've never looked back. I love you honey! And please forgive me for not getting you a gift, we're just too poor.

Oh my gosh, I completely forgot (that's me, I'm sure mom remembered). Congratulations you two. You've made it through two years, you should be good for another two, then another two, then... you get the picture.
We are happy to have Ben in our family. I agree that it's nice to have someone from outside the state of Utah, and a Democrat to boot. Granny B was particularly fond of that boy and always mentioned his politics to everyone she knew!
Have a terrifically great day.

P.S. Shame on you Liz. Ben may never forget the giftless anniversary. What a blemish!Perhaps you could cook up his favorite meal or buy him some hot salsa!
Congrats you guys! Marriage just keeps getting better and better! And I'm not just saying that.
Congratulations, Liz! Time goes by so fast! I'm glad to hear you guys are doing so well. Marriage is the best! :)
