Amish Country

Isn't Ali the best for sneaking onto my blog and posting that last post. What great friends I have. That is one department I've always felt beyond blessed in.

Well, this last weekend Ben and I made a trip out to Pennsylvania to see the Bassett family in Hershey but on our way we stopped in Amish country (Intercourse and Bird-in-Hand PA). Ben hadn't seen the Amish yet. Here are some pictures we snapped while we drove through the beautiful rolling hills.Selling goods outside their barn. Ben thinks it must be quite profitable to be Amish. We both wondered if they ever get sick of being gawked at.
It's a little blury, but otherwise it is a great picture. So much peace out there plowing his fields. I wonder what ever made them think "this is bad, we are going to avoid it," when electricity came out. Hats off to them for sticking to their guns. I'd have abandoned that idea by the year 2008.

These pictures were taken out front of a couple of their shops. I love that stick horse. But the best part of our trip wasn't the Amish. It was Jaedon and Livy of course! They are so cute.
I wonder why we are "glowing." Maybe cause Jaedon is such an angel! Check out that pumpkin cheesecake Jon made me. He has always been such an awesome big brother. I'm glad he's out here. Thanks Jon, Mel, Jaedon and Livy for such a fun birthday's eve!

How fun! I have actually always wanted to go to Amish country but still haven't. I am very curious about the inner-workings on the Amish. Looks like you guys had a blast! By the way... I love you hair- great color!
