I'm from DELTA!

Today I am thankful that I grew up in the Greatest Place On Earth.

It may not be the prettiest place on Earth, but to me it is beautiful. Here's a list of reasons I wouldn't change my experience in the Great Basin Desert for anything.
  • Endless amount of WONDERFUL friends
  • Sutherland Sunsets
  • Starry nights
  • Oak City Canyon
  • A great public education
  • Amazing extended family all around
I miss the majesty of the open sky. I miss being engulfed by mountains. I miss having Aunts and Uncles, Petersen cousins, and Grandparents to drop in and see.

I cherish the friendships that grew from pleasant childhood memories. I marvel that from DNES to DHS I was always told I could do and be anything I wanted to be.

I love Delta, I always will. And no matter how far away I go. It will always be home.

Yes, Delta is a most wonderful place. I love the sound of the tractors cutting and baling hay, the cows when they are weaned from their mommies, the sight and sound of the dust cropping plane, the sight and sound of the snow geese, the beautiful skies, and on and on and on, but most of all the wonderful people who inhabit the area!

Liz I also feel that no matter where life takes me Delta is home. It's so hard to describe to people why it has such a strong hold on my heart. People usually tease me about Rabbits and the fact that you can drive through town in less than 5 minutes. I just smile. City life can sometimes be a little overwhelming. And...it's nice to be noticed. I love coming home because there are always people who want to know what your up to and how things are going. Here...know one would REALLY even notice if you just picked up and moved one night!

Yes you are right but I have to add two things that I love and the first one is the sutherland sunrises and the second one is the clear night on the tramp I want to get my kids a tramp this year for Christmas so they can lay out all night and watch for shooting stars. I loved that when I was little I still miss it. And to tell the truth I cant wait to sleep out there all together. But I have to say I love that Tavis and I are both from here so we both know we want to raise our kids here- no questions asked!!!

I agree, Delta is the best place EVER! And it will always be home to me, too. Your blog is so cute! I got lazy and combined all the last days before thanksgiving. Ha ha!

Loved your post, Betty. Delta (Sutherland) is the best! I couldn't wait to get out of town back in '72, but by '78, I couldn't get back soon enough! I'd had enough of the city to last me a lifetime!
I am so grateful my children had the same wonderful childhood that I enjoyed. I just wish one of the four of you would come home to roost! I'll keep my fingers crossed!
Love, Pa
