Good point. Teachers are priceless if you ask me, and deserve more than almost any occupation! They form and shape our country through educating our children. I see it with my own child in school. They are investing in him, and influencing him and his ability to grow intellectually and emotionally. Parents have a huge responsibility to fuel their child's education, but teachers carve and mark that pathway to begin with. I admire you teachers!!!!!! The best, brightest, and most talented should be educating our children! We need to make that job desirable for them!

Unfortunately in America teachers are not valued. In many countries in the world they are respected, revered and paid decent wages. In America sports, recreation and Wall Street reign supreme.
Hopefully your generation will get things right, 'cuz mine has royally screwed it up! I know Grandma would agree with me on that one!
Did you see the episode where he had Diane Ravitch on the show? She wrote a book about the education system and that was a fantastic episode as well. I asked TJ if Jon Stewart could be my TV boyfriend and he agreed. Done and done.
