Sunday Video

There were a couple moments yesterday morning where I found myself falling into my reoccurring trap of bemoaning Sunday. About the third time I did this I told myself to just snap out of it. Snap out of it! And you know what, I actually had a really good Sunday.

That might be thanks to Ben, who took Coraline out of the Sacrament meeting within the first twenty minutes, and never returned. Oh how I look forward to the day I no longer have a toddler at Church. I know, I know. Big kids aren't perfectly reverent, but so far mine rarely need to be escorted out. They just spend most their time coloring.

One of my favorite moments at Church actually happened in primary. During singing time our song leader had us sing opera style and Nell just about had me on the floor (technically I was already on the floor trying to entertain Coraline). She was singing with the deepest man voice I've ever heard. Her little lips were pointed out so far I thought they might fall off. Her cheeks were tucked in so tight, and she was just trying her hardest to be the loudest person in the room. It was hysterical. I wish I could record it. I asked her to do it for Ben and it just wasn't anything close to the original. What a moment!

Reid and I have spent the last week building all his Lego sets and we finalized the last ones during our quiet afternoon. He always wants me to play Legos with him but I find no joy in playing Legos. I do find joy in sorting and organizing, so it turns out that we made a pretty good team. I found all the pieces he needed and he assembled. We spent hours together and I'm hoping that satisfies his need to play Legos with me for at least the next six months.

We ended the evening with a family walk through our neighborhood nature center. If I had known my phone was going to make that cool video (which I did edit) I would have been sure to snap some photos from our adventure. The kids found wonderful sticks to drag around and spent most their time running down the trail. They love finding cool rocks and looking for wildlife, or even just the sign of wildlife. The dead raccoon we spotted last time was gone, so we figured some fox had a nice dinner. We saw lots of deer tracks down by the creek, so they've been drinking up all our fresh rain. And of course, we picked up lots of liter. We enjoy that little bit of nature so much and are so grateful it is close by.

What a beautiful Sunday.
