20 pounds

I have set a goal (and in an effort to be really serious about it, I am sharing that goal) to lose 20 pounds. I don't particularly look or feel 20 pounds overweight, but I am 20 pounds above my "yippee!" weight.

I feel fine at 170, fat at 180 and perfect at 160. My depression weight is 150. So as much as I'd love to be 150, I don't really want to battle the demon of depression. I'll let myself aim for 160.

Twenty pounds to go!

My goal is to swim three days a week and bike three days a week. Once I get in shape I may drop each down to just two days, and run on the treadmill the other two. But running is by far my least favorite of the three, so that will take some prepping for.

I did go swimming last Friday and today. I'm a horrible swimmer. Horrible. And it feels so good to not even care about that. What a wonderful sport.

The biggest change I'll have to make though, isn't starting a work out routine ... it will be controlling my eating habits. Yikes! I love junk food. I snack all the time. I rarely eat an actual meal. I snack while prepping lunch and snacks for the kids. Between feeding them and cleaning things up, I usually don't even remember to feed myself. But I have to stop making excuses. I will eat my vegetables, I will fight my sugar yearnings, I will control my portions.

I will lose 20 pounds.

Good luck Liz! You can do it. Exercising is the easy part for me too. Eating healthy is a battle for sure. Treats are one of my favorite things in the world.
